Airway

Place holder

The connected pathway through which air travels from outside the body into the lungs. The airway is made up of three zones — the nasal passages, the oral and dental structures, and the throat and trachea — and functions as an integrated system rather than a single organ. When any part of the airway is blocked, narrowed, or compromised, the effects can ripple throughout the body, impacting sleep, energy, cognitive function, and overall health.
